How to generate an SEO title

  1. Describe the page: primary keyword, audience, and what the reader gets after the click.
  2. Blog mode is pre-selected, matching typical title-tag length limits.
  3. Generate up to 20 titles, compare scores, and copy the line that reads well as both a title tag and an H1.

What makes an SEO title work

Google usually displays 50 to 60 characters of a title tag before truncating it, though the real limit is pixel width, not a fixed character count—a title full of wide capital letters gets cut off sooner than one in lowercase.

Google also rewrites title tags it judges unclear or mismatched with page content, sometimes pulling from the H1 or headings instead. The closer your title tag, H1, and page content agree, the less likely a rewrite.

  • Put the primary keyword near the start, in a natural phrase, not a keyword list.
  • Keep to roughly 60 characters so the line isn't cut off on desktop results.
  • Make the title different from (but consistent with) your meta description, so the two don't repeat each other.

SEO title generator FAQ

What's the difference between an SEO title and a page title?
They're usually the same thing: the SEO title is the content of your <title> tag, which search engines display as the blue link in results. Your H1 can differ, though keeping them close reduces the chance Google rewrites your title.
How long should an SEO title be?
Aim for roughly 50 to 60 characters. Google's cutoff is based on pixel width, not character count, so a title heavy in capital letters or wide characters may get cut off sooner.
Why does Google show a different title than the one I wrote?
Google sometimes rewrites titles it finds unclear, too long, or stuffed with keywords, pulling instead from the page's H1 or on-page text. Writing a title tag that matches your H1 and content lowers the odds of a rewrite.
